Nominated for the 2020 Norwegian Ministry of Culture’s literary prize – best picture book of the year.
A charming and heart warming Christmas story to be read the whole year around!
It is December but no-one in the village are looking forward to Christmas. They are poor and there is almost no food. One day the priest gets a brilliant idea! He suggests that they all chip in and buy a pig together – in that way everybody will get something to eat. Unfortunately they can only afford the tiniest piglet. The villagers decide to fatten it up for one year, but when next Christmas comes no-one can bring themselves to slaughter the pig. They have become too fond of the creature. But what will they eat? Luckily something very unexpected happens - it seems the villagers have gotten themselves a very lucky pig indeed!

Forfatter og illustratør Monia Nilsen er både inspirerende, grundig og leken – og det er en veldig god kombinasjon. Hun er heller aldri redd for å prøve ut nye ideer.
Monia er rett og slett en glede
å jobbe med.
